Mongol Rally
In 2007 Print Buying Direct along with others sponsored James Huff from Swindon and American film-maker Ilia Kevich from ‘Preparation M’, one of the teams involved in this year's Mongol Rally, an epic and slightly mad race from London to Mongolia.
Not for the faint hearted, the Teams set off on a month-long adventure with a budget of only £1,000 per person. The teams drove all the way in an 'old banger' with an engine no bigger than 1 litre. This year, adrenelin junkie Jack Osbourne joined them for this epic journey.
To raise as much money as they could for 'Mercy Corps' and Swindon Foodbank, the guys exchanged 1cm square sections on the roof of their car for £1 a piece, selling over 500 squares.
At 1am on 21st August the team crossed the finish line and settle down to a cold brew at 'Daves Place' in Suxhbaatar Square. 80 out of 191 teams completed the event, 30 of which had to be towed in with some teams still to finish before the final date of 25/09/07.
